Ritec International, pioneers of durable ‘non-stick’ surface technologies, will launch the new ClearShield Eco-System™ at this year’s FIT Show. This is the first and only glazing component with a three-way guarantee covering performance, added value and profit at every step of the supply chain – fabricator, installer, contractor or trades. In addition, Ritec are offering new and exciting promotional material, point-of-sale displays, comprehensive training and technical support. Based on many years of successful track records, Ritec now offer a no-risk satisfaction guarantee.
The ClearShield Eco-System™ transforms new or old glass into a higher value product with low-maintenance performance, resulting in diversification leading to higher sales. Furthermore, the ClearShield Eco-System™ helps maintain the original ‘A’ Window Energy Rating (WER), allowing glass to uphold its optical clarity over the life of a window.
Customers do not have to stock a new type of glass; Ritec’s simple added-value package enables unprotected glass to be upgraded into ClearShield Eco-Glass™ in the factory. The System also offers companies the ability to renovate, protect and maintain existing glass on-site, giving them unique opportunities to add new revenue streams.
Ritec International invites visitors to stand 205 where they can see for themselves their exclusive show offers. Stephen Byers, Managing Director of Ritec International comments:
“We look forward to establishing new relationships with visitors to the FIT Show with the objective of delivering added value all along the glass supply chain. If you are unable to come along to the exhibition but are interested in Ritec’s new and exciting developments, please contact us and we’ll be delighted to discuss them with you.”

Leading glass and mirror manufacturer, Go-Glass, chose Ritec’s new ClearShield Eco-System™ to protect and maintain its latest decorative glass commission for the London edition of the Balthazar Restaurant.
This second Balthazar restaurant was recently launched to great critical acclaim in Covent Garden and again features stunning glass ‘Art Deco’ style interiors which are synonymous with the brand.
Having used Ritec’s ‘non-stick’ glass surface treatment for many years, Go-Glass applied the ClearShield® easy-clean treatment on to the special acoustic laminated glass, in which they had etched a sandblasted border design, in their own factory.
Ordinary glass treated with the ClearShield Eco-System™ is upgraded to ClearShield Eco-Glass™, resulting in a higher quality of glass with excellent clarity. The restaurant’s glass will also hold a pristine appearance for longer and will always be easier to clean, providing low maintenance cost savings for the restaurant. In addition, ClearShield Eco-Glass™ is more hygienic thanks to its anti-microbial properties. Meeting direct food contact test requirements of the EU and the USA Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the anti-microbial properties significantly reduce the accumulation of bacteria, viruses and fungi and it is therefore ideal for commercial and private kitchens.
Tracy Saunders, Director of Go-Glass, says: “We have been using ClearShield® on our sandblasted glass for more than 12 years and have always been delighted with the results. In an environment such as this busy restaurant we needed to be confident that the product we supplied would be hard wearing and retain its pristine appearance. Go-Glass have signed up to the Ritec ‘Good Glass Campaign’ and actively endorse the use of ClearShield® on glass showers, splash-backs and all sandblasted glass the company supplies.”
Stephen Byers, Managing Director of Ritec International, states: “We are delighted that Go-Glass has again chosen the ClearShield Eco-System™ to protect and maintain the glass supplied on this striking new project. This really is a product that adds considerable value at every step of the supply chain.”
Ritec International is delighted to announce that they are finalists for the G13 Environmental Initiative of the Year Award with their ClearShield Eco-System™. The new System has been recognised by the Award Judges for its ‘green benefits’ that apply to all types of glass, exterior and interior, and include –
– Energy savings for routine glass maintenance – reduces by 50% on average the energy requirements for routine glass washing including transportation to site, operation of access equipment, production of cleaning materials and consumption of water;
– Reduced carbon footprint – by reducing energy requirements, ClearShield® also reduces by 50% on average the climate-changing emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases;
– Enhanced day-lighting – by maintaining the original light transmission of glass.
In addition, the System can renovate glass to its original state which reduces the environment impact of replacing the glass with a new product.
This latest award nomination comes hot on the heels of the company being awarded the ISO 14001 standard. This is accepted internationally and accredits Ritec as having an effective environmental management system in place within its business. This International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard is designed to address the delicate balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impact; and is achieved with the commitment of the company as a whole.
